Vedic History of Lithuania Country

If you were to travel to Lithuania you might encounter some traditional houses adorned with the motif of two horse heads. You might take this as a simple design but it is in fact a small clue to Lithuania's deep and ancient Vedic past.

Traditionally, the Vedic peoples of Lithuania worshipped the Ašvieniai, the divine horse twins, related to the goddess Ūsinis. They are said to pull the Sun Chariot through the sky. The Lithuanian people continue to adorn their roof tops with the symbol of the divine horse twins in order to receive protection for the household.

In India the complete Vedic tradition has been preserved. There the divine horse twins are known as the Ashvins, the children of the Sun god Surya, who are summoned by the goddess Ushas (morning dawn) and appear as the morning and evening sunlight. They are often known as Nasatya (Kind, Helpful) and Dasra (Enlightened Giving). They are practitioners of Ayurveda as the doctors of the devas (demigods), and it is for this reason that people adorn their roofs with their image - so that the residing family may remain healthy. They are most notable for granting the divine twins of King Pandu - Nakula and Sahadev, who along with Yudhisthira, Bhima, and Arjuna made up the Pandavas of the Mahabharata.

Lithuanian is very archaic and has preserved linguistically a great deal from Sanskrit, the original Mother Language of Europe. Below are a few examples of the linguistic similarities:

Asva (Lithuanian)=Ashva (Sanskrit) meaning 'horse'
Dievas (Lithuanian)=Devas (Sanskrit) meaning 'gods', 'the shining ones';
Dumas (Lithuanian)=Dhumas (Sanskrit) meaning 'smoke'
Sunus (Lithuanian)=Sunus (Sanskrit) meaning 'son'
Vyras (Lithuanian)=Viras (Sanskrit) meaning 'man'
Padas (Lithuanian)=Padas (Sanskrit) meaning 'sole of the foot'
Ugnis (Lithuanian)=Agnis (Sanskrit) meaning 'fire'
Vilkas (Lithuanian)=Vrkas (Sanskrit) meaning 'wolf'
Ratas (Lithuanian)=Rathas (Sanskrit) meaning 'carriage'
Senis (Lithuanian)=Sanas (Sanskrit) meaning 'old'
Dantis (Lithuanian)=Dantas (Sanskrit) meaning 'teeth'
Naktis (Lithuanian)=Naktis (Sanskrit) meaning 'night'

In the Anglo-Saxon tradition also, it is said that two German brothers Hengist ("Stallion") and Horsa ("Horse") led the armies that conquered Britain. Many believe this is a continuation of the original tradition of the Vedic horse twins. Similar to Lithuania, you will find the same tradition of horse-headed gables on roofs throughout Germany in honor of Hengist and Horsa.

So the next time you travel through Europe and see these horse gabled roofs, smile and realize their connection to Europe's ancient Vedic past.

How I Can Know the Krishna is the Supreme God?

Question: How I Can Know the Krishna is the Supreme God?

I read in a world's religion book about Hinduism that there are many gods and that Krishna was Vishnu's expansion after Lion-Nrisimgadeva. But the Vaisnavas say that Krishna is the Absolute God, and everything has been born from Him. Also, the book says that in the Vedas there is no word about Krishna, that Krishna is only mentioned in the Bhagavat gita, which the books say is only a legend. So how can I know what's the truth? And how can I know that this is only way how I can come back to God? There is so many things I can't understand that all religions are for me like a game.

Answer: We Show You How to Meet Krishna

In practically every book which describes the world's religions and Hinduism there is tons of misinformation. The first point is that there is no such thing as many religions because religion is one. Religion simply means to relink with God through pure loving devotion. This one religion can be perfected by anyone who fully surrenders to the will of God. It does not matter if one is a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, or a follower of the Vedas. All one has to do is become a pure lover of God. Then he will fully realize the Highest Truth.

The second point is that the word "Hindu" does not appear anywhere in the Vedic literatures. It was a name coined by the Muslims to described those persons east of the Sindhu river. So technically speaking the word "Hinduism" is meaningless in terms of accurately described a certain religious system.

And besides that these academic text books are written by scholars, not by persons who have actually realized the Absolute Truth. Because they have no devotion and thus no personal realization they have failed to see what is clearly described in the Bhagavad-gita, that Krishna is the compiler of the Vedic wisdom and that it all ultimately points to Him. They foolishly state that the events described in the Bhagavad-gita are legendary and not historical. But the actual site where Krishna spoke the Bhagavad-gita is still existing in India. Anyone can go and see where this most famous conversation in world history took place.

It is preposterous for these foolish scholars to assert that Krishna is not mentioned in the Vedas when it clearly stated in the Atharva Veda (Gopāla-tāpanī Upaniṣad 1.24):

yo brahmāṇaṁ vidadhāti pūrvaṁ yo vai vedāṁś ca gāpayati sma kṛṣṇaḥ

"It was Kṛishna who in the beginning instructed Brahmā in Vedic knowledge and who disseminated Vedic knowledge in the past."

After then after Brahma received the Vedic knowledge from Krishna Brahma then clearly describes in another Vedic text, the Sri Brahma-samhita, as follows:

īśvaraḥ paramaḥ kṛṣṇaḥ
sac-cid-ānanda-vigrahaḥa
ādir ādir govindaḥ
sarva-kāraṇa-kāraṇam

"The Supreme Personality of Godhead is Kṛiṣhṇa, who has a body of eternity, knowledge and bliss. He has no beginning, for He is the beginning of everything. He is the cause of all causes."

Those who have a halfway understanding of the Vedic wisdom sometimes say that Krishna is an expansion of Vishnu. But they do not know that there are unlimited Vishnus and that Krishna is the original Vishnu form from which all the other Vishnus come. So while it is true that Vishnu is the origin, this must be understood in the context of Krishna being the original form of Vishnu.
v
And besides all this scriptural evidence, we show you how to personally meet Krishna and see first hand that He is indeed the original of all existence, the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

I sincerely hope that this has cleared up your confusion completely now. If you are still having any doubts, kindly let me know and I will destroy them for you.

Knowing Truth with Imperfect Senses?

Question: Knowing Truth with Imperfect Senses?
From reading Srila Prabhupada's books I learn that we conditioned souls have four defects. Because we have imperfect senses we have a tendency to be illusioned and thus we make mistakes and cheat. So how with these defects can we know that we are reading in the Vedic teachings is true and not false?

Answer: Senses Are Perfected by Krishna Consciousness

I appreciate that you asked a very intelligent question. If we are all possessing the four defects of imperfect senses, the tendency to be illusioned, making mistakes, and cheating, how can we trust our judgment to accept the truth of the Bhagavad-gita? If our senses are imperfect, how can we know for sure that Krishna is God and that His teachings are the Absolute Truth?

It is indeed a fact that with our imperfect senses we cannot know certainly that anything is true. So how with these imperfect senses can we with any degree of intellectual integrity accept the truth of the Vedic wisdom? Are we simply blindly, dogmatically accepting the Vedic wisdom like brainwashed cult members?

The answer is that although it is a fact that with our imperfect senses we cannot know the truth, by the process of Krishna consciousness our senses become perfect and with perfected senses we can perfectly understand and directly experience the truth of the Vedic wisdom.

How Can Anything Be Eternal?

Question: How Can Anything Be Eternal?

I had asked you once how God came into existence. You had told me God is the source of all existence and thus there can be no time when he did not exist. The thing that still bothers me is how can anything have always been. How can anything have no end and no beginning? I just cant digest the term eternal. Its just not logically acceptable.

Also, the caste system in India: the brahmanas, sudras etc. They claim to have originated from religion. It's like using religion to oppress people. Here religion seems to have been coined to serve the purpose of letting the oppressors rightfully oppress other people of the so called lower caste. Kindly give your views.

Answer:  In the Same Way that Yesterday and Tomorrow Exist

If yesterday and tomorrow are not illogical, then day before yesterday and day after tomorrow are also not illogical.  So if you keep on adding another day after another day in each direction, you have eternity. Therefore it is illogical to think that eternity is illogical.

The current caste system in India is called asuri varnashram, demonic caste system, and it is based on birth. The original caste system in Vedic culture was called daivi varnashram or divine caste system. It was based on one's qualities and activities. It was not based on birth. The present day exploitative caste system was introduced by materialistic brahmanas who were brahmanas by birth only and not qualification. The original caste system was based on harmony, love, and co-operation of everyone working according to their natural talents for the betterment of all. The Krishna consciousness movement is dedicated to restoring the original pure caste system all over the world so that everyone can become prosperous, peaceful, and happy.
